Continuing Education Certificate Programs
The Yellow Stream offers a range of specialized programs offered in a blended format (on-line live or in-room) as well as by way of shorter webinars). The Continuing Education series ranges from 1 hour to 3 days in length.
There are 5 Intensive Yellow Stream Certificate programs. Four programs are 3-days (21 contact hours) in length, and one is offered in either a 2-day format or a 12-hour format divided into 4 sessions to accommodate on-line learning opportunities crossing into different time zones.
The first 5 intensive certificate programs are intended for Masters Degree mental health practitioners, or those enrolled in a Masters Degree level mental health program. Participants are provided with a Training Manual for each program (either by PDF or hard copy).
Having some play-based training is important for the Yellow-Stream Continuing Education Series. Those who have completed the Certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills (Purple Stream), The Foundations of Play Therapy (Green Stream) and the Advanced Play Therapy Theory and Techniques courses (or equivalent) are welcome to apply.
Certificates of completion may be submitted to APT, CAPT, or BCPTA for approval for continuing education hours.
